Government officials at all levels make decisions that impact the local economy and the ability of businesses to succeed. The Chamber serves as the voice of business ensuring that the interests of business are considered in local decision-making.

The Government Affairs Council is the primary means by which the Chamber deals with public policy and legislative issues in McMinnville. GAC is a committee appointed by the Board of Directors to develop public policy positions and communicate those positions to elected officials, government agencies and our membership.

The McMinnville Chamber is a member of the Oregon State Chamber of Commerce. The Oregon State Chamber of Commerce (OSCC) is an association of chambers of commerce. It is dedicated to preserving the competitive enterprise system of business by creating a better understanding and appreciation of the importance of a strong economy while contributing to the growth and professionalism of the industry.
