May 11, 2011 – McMinnville, OR – The twenty sixth annual Turkey Trot 8K Run, 5K Run/Walk and 2 Mile Fun Walk will be held in McMinnville, OR on Saturday, July 9. Day-of-race registration is 7:00-7:45 a.m. and the race begins at 8:00 a.m. Participants meet at the McMinnville Area Chamber of Commerce parking lot on Adams Street, between 5th and 4th Streets. Proceeds from the event will benefit two area non-profit organizations, Willamette Valley Cancer Foundation and McMinnville Area Chamber of Commerce.
Pre-registration is $25 for the run and $15 for the walk. On the day of the race, registration is $30 for the run and $20 for the walk. T-shirts are now included in your participation fee as long as we receive your registration before July 1st. Teams of 10 people or more are now available and will receive a $3 discount per-team participant.

Following the race, participants are invited to Upper City Park for refreshments and music and a variety of door prizes. The overall men’s and women’s first, second and third place finishers will receive awards, donated by local businesses. Ribbons will be presented to the first, second, and third place finishers in eleven different age divisions.
Willamette Valley Cancer Foundation is a local charitable organization established to help care for cancer patients during their treatment and to educate members of the community about cancer prevention. Recent grants have provided transportation, rent, prescriptions, and groceries for cancer patients.
The race is sponsored by Willamette Valley Medical Center and McMinnville Area Chamber of Commerce with water donation by Willamette Graystone Inc. Turkey Trot is part of the two-day Turkey Rama Festival of McMinnville, OR, which will be held Friday and Saturday, July 8 and 9.
