The McMinnville Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce Jenna Shoemaker Community Champion, Member of the Quarter. Jenna serves as the Quality Systems Manager at Cascade Steel Rolling Mills, Inc. In her role, she helps ensure the safety for all and so much more.
Jenna was noted as one of Cascade Steel Rolling Mill’s most community-minded employees since her hire. She has spearheaded many of CSRM’s activities to contribute to the local environment and community. Her accomplishments include leading Earth Day activities within Cascade Steel and the local community, including removing invasive weeds from Tice Park for two years. Prior to that she was instrumental in organizing Cascade Steel’s hosting of a recycling event in conjunction with Recology and the McMinnville Chamber of Commerce and championing ongoing plastic reduction efforts at CSRM. Jenna continues contributing to Cascade Steel’s collaboration with YCAP funding efforts since 2015, helping CSRM raise thousands of dollars towards this worthy cause and organizing CSRM’s Veterans Day celebrations.
In addition, Jenna was nominated to participate in the Leadership Mac program in 2016. With all that she does, she also managed to find time to perform all these endeavors while at the same time working towards a Master’s Degree in Quality Assurance while working full-time and raising a young child. She shows no signs of slowing down and is now getting more involved with the local schools to help them develop a thriving trades educational program.
Cascade Steel is a pacesetter when it comes to supporting the local community through allowing their employees to contribute time to making McMinnville a better place to live, work and play. You are sure to run into Jenna while out and about, and when you do…please CONGRATULATE her. We are delighted to be recognizing her contributions to our community as a community champion.
