FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE  – July 26, 2021

The McMinnville Area Chamber of Commerce announces a new location for the Chamber Office. The McMinnville Area Chamber of Commerce announces a new location for the Chamber Office. After 40 years occupying the “Chamber Building” on Adams, the McMinnville Area Chamber of Commerce is moving to a new location at 319 NE 5th Street, formerly the offices of MV Advancements (MVA). MVA has moved to a new location on McDaniel Lane in McMinnville.

The “Chamber Building” on Adams Street, owned by the City of McMinnville was built in 1916 by Dr. J. Holt Nelson, a local dentist. The house then became the property in the 1920’s of Robert L. Walker, who ran the Walnut City Grocery. In the 1930’s, it was purchased by John G. Manning, a prominent McMinnville doctor. It was purchased by the City of McMinnville in the 1970’s from Esther Manning and is listed on the City’s historical resource survey.

The Chamber will move to their new home on September 1, 2021, and will continue to serve the community, as it has done for over 100 years. The new office will remain as the visitor center for the community providing information to tourists and residents alike.

Chamber President and CEO, Gioia Goodrum said, “This is a big step for the Chamber. We thank the City of McMinnville for their support and look forward to continuing the strong relationship built over our many years working together. The Chamber’s mission of supporting a strong local economy and vision of a thriving community, will live on, just in a different space.”
