TURKEY RAMA 2020

McMinnville Chamber notification regarding the cancellation of the 2020 Turkey Rama Festival due to COVID-19 restrictions on large gatherings.

May 13, 2020 (McMinnville, OR) – Turkey Rama, McMinnville’s annual summer festival, was scheduled for Friday through Sunday, July 10th – 12th, 2020 in downtown McMinnville. This city-wide celebration, the largest in Yamhill County, offered activities for everyone to enjoy. Due to COVID-19 and the State of Oregon prohibition on large events through September, the McMinnville Chamber Board of Directors has regrettably decided to cancel the event for 2020.

Per an announcement made by Governor Brown on May 7, 2020, mass gatherings are prohibited through September as part of the State’s phased reopening plan. The decision is driven by the need to ensure safe distancing to counter the spread of COVID-19. The well-being of our community, vendors, guests, volunteers and employees is our foremost concern.

Due to the restrictions, the Chamber and MDA are looking for ways to promote our local businesses and help with their economic recovery. More information will be shared as those plans evolve.

For 59 years, thousands of people have flocked to and through McMinnville for the food, fun, and festivities. We plan for it to happen again, in 2021. Meanwhile, support your business community by shopping local whenever possible.
